Microsoft to Charge for Windows 7 Extended Support

Well the cat is out of the box! Microsoft has announced that Windows 7 updates will be available to enterprises after extended support ends on January 14th, 2020. What is the catch? Well you have to pay of course! Microsoft is offering Extended Security Updates for Windows 7 through January 2023, adding three years to the operating systems life cycle. This is the last ditch effort to get companies to migrate away from Windows 7. It is important to note, Windows 7 ESU will be sold on a per-device basis and the price will increase each year. So, how much is this gonna cost? Microsoft hasn’t said yet.
